RATES
Square Inch Price
I charge 2.75 cents per square inch for all designs.
Example: A quilt top that is 60 inches x 80 inches. 60 x 80 = 4800 x .0275 = $132.
My minimum quilting charge is $50. This means that a small quilt or table runner's square inch price will be rounded up to the $50 minimum.

Batting
I use and stock my favorite Quilters Dream batting in the 80/20 cotton/poly blend, 100% cotton, and in the 100% poly.
Batting is a separate charge and is NOT included in the square inch price.
I charge for batting by the linear inch from queen rolls of batting except in the case of special orders. I will use only what is needed for your quilt (smallest side + a 5" margin) and charge per inch.
For example, if you have a 60" x 80" quilt, I would cut 65" of the batting of your choice.
65" of 100% cotton deluxe loft @ $0.40/in = $26.00
65" of 80/20 cotton/poly blend @ $0.35/in = $22.75
65" of 100% poly @ $0.30/in = $19.50
Let's Talk Thread
I stock Glide 40wt and 50wt as well as a selection of So Fine 50wt threads. Best of all, thread is included in your quilting price—there are no additional thread fees.
When choosing a thread color, I typically lean toward a color that blends with the lighter areas of your quilt. My goal is for the thread to complement your quilt and allow the quilting to add beautiful texture without distracting from your piecing.
But this is your quilt, and I want you to love the finished result! If you have a particular thread color or look in mind, just let me know. And if you're not sure what to choose, I'm always happy to help you find just the right color.
A Little Something Extra
Every finished quilt deserves its moment in the spotlight!
Once your quilting is complete, I’ll take photos of your finished quilt in my well-lit studio using my “good” camera. I’ll send the images to you by text or email, and they’re yours to save, share, or post however you’d like.
If you share the photos publicly or on social media, I simply ask that you give PK Quilt Works a little shout-out for the photography and quilting.
And the best part? There’s no additional charge for this service—it’s included in your quilting price.
Shipping Your Quilt
Not local? No problem! I’m happy to accept quilts by mail, so you can send your quilt to PK Quilt Works from anywhere in the U.S.
Sending Your Quilt to Me
Before packing your quilt, please place your quilt top and backing inside a clean plastic bag or other protective bag. This provides an extra layer of protection against moisture or damage while your quilt is in transit.
Place everything inside a sturdy cardboard box, securely tape all seams, and make sure your shipping label is clearly attached.
Once you've shipped your quilt, feel free to send me the tracking number so I'll know to keep an eye out for it. I'll let you know as soon as your quilt arrives safely!
Sending Your Finished Quilt Home
Once the quilting is complete, I'll carefully package your finished quilt and ship it back to you with tracking.
Return shipping costs will be added to your final invoice. When available and economical, I'll choose a shipping option that provides a good balance of cost, tracking, and delivery time.
If you'd like additional shipping insurance for your quilt, just let me know on your intake form. I'm happy to add it to your return shipment at your expense. While additional insurance isn't required, I do recommend considering it—especially for quilts that would be difficult or impossible to replace.
And then comes the best part: your quilt is headed home, one big step closer to being finished!
Other Costs
I like to keep my pricing as simple and transparent as possible, so there are no surprises when you receive your final invoice.
As mentioned above, batting is not included in the square-inch quilting price and will be charged separately if you decide to purchase batting from me. Applicable California sales tax will be added to your batting purchase.
Your quilting service, thread, and quilt photography are all included in your square-inch price. Any additional charges, such as return shipping or your portion of a specially purchased pantograph, will be clearly communicated before your final invoice.
If you ever have questions about what your quilt will cost, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm always happy to provide an estimate before we get started.
Payment
Once your quilting is complete, I’ll send you an invoice via PayPal. I truly appreciate prompt payment, as your quilt will be packaged up and ready to make its journey home as soon as your invoice is paid.
Once payment is received, I’ll get your finished quilt on its way back to you!
