LET'S WORK TOGETHER!
Fill out the form below to tell me a little about your quilt. I can't wait to see what you've been working on!
Preparing Your Quilt
A little preparation before your quilt arrives helps everything go smoothly once it's time to get it on the longarm.
How Big Should My Backing Be?
Here's an easy way to remember: Four-for-Four!
Your backing should extend at least 4 inches beyond your quilt top on ALL four sides.
For example:
Quilt top: 60" × 80"
Minimum backing: 68" × 88"
Your backing can always be bigger—but please, not smaller! The extra fabric is necessary for me to properly load and quilt your project on the longarm.
If your backing isn't quite large enough or your quilt requires additional preparation before I can load it, I'll contact you to discuss your options. Additional preparation fees may apply if significant extra work is needed.
Not sure if your backing will work? Just ask! I'm always happy to help before you send your quilt my way.
Tidy It Up!
Before bringing or sending your quilt to PK Quilt Works, please give your quilt top and backing a good press so they're nice and tidy and ready for the longarm.
Please also trim loose threads and any fraying or raveling fabric as best you can—especially dark threads that could find their way behind lighter fabrics and show through your finished quilt.
You don't have to catch every single thread! A little extra attention before your quilt arrives simply helps me give you the best possible finished result.
Teamwork! 💜
Choosing Your Quilting
I want this part to be fun—not overwhelming!
If you already know exactly what quilting design and thread color you want, wonderful! Tell me what you have in mind.
If you have absolutely no idea, that's wonderful too. You can leave the quilting design, thread color, or both up to me, and I'll choose options that I feel complement your quilt.
Or we can make those decisions together.
Every quilt has a different purpose. Some call for something special, while others just need to get finished, loved, and used. Sometimes, “done” really is the perfect choice!
